Hi, I'm Sam Taylor,

Occupational Therapist

I’m an occupational therapist with experience in supporting children with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, and many more. I have been working and volunteering in the paedatric disability space for over 10 years.  My journey in this field is not just professional, but also personal. Having navigated the challenges similar to dyslexia and auditory processing difficulties myself, I understand the hurdles that families face within the education system, therapeutic environments and everyday life.

My approach to therapy is holistic and family-centered. I recognise that enhancing a child’s well-being goes beyond traditional milestones like handwriting. I believe in nurturing self-confidence and resilience—qualities that form the cornerstone of building a fulfilling life. Each child’s belief in themselves is a crucial building block upon which all progress is built.

I feel deeply privileged to join families on their unique journeys, offering support and guidance where I can every step of the way. As a passionate advocate for children and families, I strive to ensure that no child slips through the cracks or is told to "just try harder." Every child deserves a cheerleader and coach, and I am focused on being that person, working to foster environments where all children can be supported and thrive.

I look forward to supporting you and your family.

How we came to be where we are today

Sam started Go Beyond Therapy to focus on this holistic style of therapy. We have provided over 23,000 hours of support to a range of kids in various settings. We have navigated COVID lockdowns in Melbourne and have been able to provide a range of programs, including group, community access, aquatic and traditional occupational therapy programs.

I hope this online environment can help support families through their lives and add another tool to their therapy toolbox. I hope to build a community where families feel supported and empowered to navigate life with all of its ups and downs. Although I am starting with an online education program for parents and caregivers, I have big dreams and hopes for what I can do for you and your family in whatever stage of life you are in.
